Valetax: $8 accounts, MT4 and MT5, and what to check first

Valetax is an offshore forex and CFD broker that lets you open a live account with 8 USD. That tiny entry point is the main reason traders in Latin America and Indonesia look it up.

This page covers what you actually get for the money, which account suits which trader, and where the risks sit. We're an independent affiliate site. We are not Valetax.

Who Valetax is for

Valetax launched in 2021 and is based in Port Louis, Mauritius. The whole business is built around small accounts. You fund with roughly the price of lunch, trade on MetaTrader, and move money through local payment methods rather than an international wire.

So it's a fair place to learn with real money on the line. It's a weaker fit if you want a broker watched by a top-tier regulator like the UK's FCA or Australia's ASIC. Valetax holds neither licence.

Cent and Standard cost the same to open: 8 USD, spreads from 1.2 pips, no commission. Contract size is what separates them. More on that below.

ECN suits people who track the cost of every trade. Spreads start at zero and you pay 4 USD per lot instead. Scalpers tend to land here.

PRO needs 500 USD and gives spreads from 0.6 pips with no commission. If you usually trade several lots at a time, run the numbers against ECN first.

Booster and Bonus are promotional accounts. Read the bonus terms before you take one, because bonus money nearly always has a trading-volume requirement attached. Bonus runs on MT4 only and tops out at 1:500.

Cent or Standard: same deposit, different scale

On a Cent account your balance shows in US cents. Put in 8 USD and the terminal reads 800 USC. One lot is 1,000 units, so the smallest trade, 0.01 lot, moves about a tenth of a cent per pip on EUR/USD.

On Standard, a lot is the usual 100,000 units. The same 0.01 lot is worth around 10 cents a pip. That's a hundred times more.

Start on Cent while you test a strategy or get used to how orders fill. Switch to Standard once cent-sized results stop telling you anything useful.

What 1:2000 leverage actually changes

Leverage sets how much margin the broker holds while your trade is open. It doesn't change how much you make or lose per pip.

Say you buy 0.01 lot of EUR/USD at 1.10 on a Standard account. The position is worth about 1,100 USD. At 1:100, the broker holds 11 USD as margin. At 1:500 it's 2.20 USD. At 1:2000, 55 cents.

Pip value stays at 10 cents in all three. A 50-pip move against you costs 5 USD, which is most of an 8 USD balance. High leverage only lets you open that trade, or a few of them, with less money down. That's exactly how small accounts get wiped out.

How to open a Valetax account

Infographic showing the five steps to open a Valetax account
  1. Register

Follow the sign-up link, enter your email and phone number, and pick a password.

  2. Verify your identity

Upload an ID and a proof of address. You can't withdraw without it, so get it out of the way early.

  3. Choose an account and platform

For a first live account, Cent on MT5 is a sensible default.

  4. Deposit

Pick a local method, a card, an e-wallet or USDT. 8 USD is enough for Cent or Standard.

  5. Trade small

Stay on demo or Cent until your results look like something you'd repeat.

Deposits and withdrawals

Valetax lists more than 50 payment options: bank transfer, cards, e-wallets such as Skrill and Neteller, crypto, and local methods that differ by country. Indonesian clients get local deposits in rupiah. In Latin America it depends on where you live, so check the cashier after you log in.

Accounts are held in USD. If you pay in local currency the exchange rate matters, so compare the deposit rate with the withdrawal rate before moving larger sums. Some users have complained about the gap between the two.

Regulation and safety

Valetax International Limited is licensed by the Financial Services Commission of Mauritius under licence number GB21026312. A sister company, Valetax Global Limited, is registered in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Both are offshore jurisdictions. They allow high leverage and lighter rules than Europe or Australia, and investor compensation is thin or missing. Valetax does offer negative balance protection, so you shouldn't lose more than the money in your account.

Valetax isn't licensed by regulators in Latin America or by Indonesia's OJK. If local supervision is a must for you, look elsewhere.

Frequently asked questions

Is Valetax legit?

Valetax operates under an FSC Mauritius licence (GB21026312) and offers negative balance protection. That's an offshore regulator, not a top-tier one. It can work for small amounts and learning; for serious capital, a more tightly regulated broker makes more sense.

What is the Valetax minimum deposit?

8 USD for the Cent, Standard, Booster and Bonus accounts. ECN needs 50 USD and PRO needs 500 USD.

Does Valetax have a demo account?

Yes. You can open a demo from your client area and practise with virtual money before depositing.

Which platforms does Valetax use?

MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5, on desktop, web and mobile. The Bonus account is MT4 only.

Does Valetax accept clients from my country?

It accepts clients from much of Latin America and Asia, but the list changes. The sign-up form will tell you whether your country is available.

Can I withdraw bonus money?

Usually not straight away. Bonuses generally need a set trading volume before they're released. Check the terms of each promotion.
